Stan’s Corner at Pro Drum Shop

Hey Drummers!! My name is Stan and I am one of the owners here at Professional Drum Shop in Hollywood, California.

First I want to thank you all for checking us out at www.prodrumshop.com.

I am going to use this blog to impart some of my percussion wisdom from the many many MANY years I’ve been working here at Pro Drum Shop. Stan’s Corner will be a blog and also include a link to videos on YouTube so you can see what I’m doing when I’m talking about some simple fixes for your drums.

TODAY’S TIP OF THE DAY!

The Ludwig P85 throw-off which is on thousands of drums out there. It has a habit of getting hung up once in a while. The best thing to do is DON’T USE WD40. Any 3 in 1 oil or any other oil will do. You hit the little square in the center of the throw-off with a drop of oil on either side and… BOOM. It’ll give you more life. It’ll last a lot longer that way. You won’t have to run out and buy another one before it starts bending up.

That’s it for today. I’m Stan and I’ll be back with more helpful tips, so check back often.

If you happen to be in the Hollywood area, stop by the shop and say hi to me, my brother Jerry or my other brother Tom.

Remember… You still gotta practice.
