"Gretsch proudly introduces a new Limited Edition Exotic kit to the USA Custom line. Available in two configurations and featuring the time-honored hybrid Maple/Gum shell, each drum is finished with a veneer that is estimated to have been submerged for 60-150 years at the bottom of the Pee Dee River Basin in South Carolina, (near the historic Smiths Sawmill), located 120 miles from the Gretsch Factory. The slow-growth, indigenous wood species benefits from the minerals in the river, giving it beautiful gray patina. Each drum’s exterior is hand-sprayed with clear Nitro-cellulous gloss lacquer, while the interior is treated with Gretsch’s exclusive Silver Sealer.

Only 60 kits will ever be crafted, each outfitted with a standard hardware build that includes Gretsch’s signature die cast hoops, bass drum mount with tom holder and 4825 direct-to-shell tom bracket. Gretsch Permatone® heads by Remo USA® heads complete the offering.

That great Gretsch Sound® married with the natural beauty of river-reclaimed cypress. Old growth Giant Cypress veneer is applied to the famous Gretsch USA maple and gum shell. Finished in clear nitrocellulose lacquer and outfitted with the Custom Shop’s standard build, both a bop and standard 4-pc configuration are offered. Only 30 of each will ever be produced.
